Dare to be unexpected yet uber stylish without trying too hard with a simple, yet ultra fashionable approach by taking a closer look at the spring 2012 lookbook
put together by Darlene and Lizzy for William Okpo. Looking great doesn’t need to be complicated in order to be surprisingly cool and the William Okpo collection for spring 2012 certainly follows this style principle. Well defined cuts and color palettes, creative juggling with proportions and a modern approach stand out immediately.
Cropped tops are an important trend highlight of the collection, being a fabulous choice for those who aren’t afraid to flash some skin and are comfortable with being on the spotlight. Sheer details are another interesting style concept that is gently and tastefully reflected in some of the outfits presented for a simple yet ultra effective focal point.
Asymmetry and creative layering are perhaps the biggest style rules used to create the lust-worthy outfits presented. A sense of individuality is immediately evident because style tendencies that are not always reflected in mainstream lookbooks, like the drop crutch, are very much highlighted. Similarly, roomy overalls that don’t necessarily focus on highlighting feminine curves are another interesting piece that stands out in the collection.
Maxi skirts, cropped pants and elegant blouses are a few basic pieces with an extremely high potential when combined properly. As far as the color palette used, there are a few well defined tones that are used with small variations throughout the lookbook. Grey, red tones, navy blue, shades of green that create a fabulous gradient effect, very light yellow or pure white tones highlight the architectural designs presented in an extremely powerful manner.
